A Conversation with John Navin on December 1, 2008

Ken Kam's Conversation with John Navin

We recently selected John Navin as an mFOLIO Master. He is one of the few technical analysts that has established a great long-term track record and because of his approach to investing, was able to avoid most of fall from the credit crisis when he saw the clearest bear market signal he has ever seen early this year.

At a time when there are equally compelling arguments for getting out of the market and for staying in, of going to cash or investing more, it is useful to hear Navin's outlook for the market based on his technical analysis. Emotions like fear and greed are driving the market more than company fundamentals so Navin's technical analysis - with a lot of experience, judgement, and at times, good old Benjamin Graham style value investing to guide his thinking - Navin sees us in a protracted bear market with potential for sharp bear market rallies. He sees us trading between a S&P 500 market between 740 and 1000.
